Dr David Wilson

Veterinarian, Owner

David grew up on a farm in the rural community of Deniliquin, New South Wales. It was here, surrounded by all types of large and small animals, that David’s interest in animals and their well-being began. He had many pets to care for, including dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, budgies, lambs, calves and horses. This led to David following his passion of working with animals by completing a Bachelor of Veterinary Science at The University of Melbourne in 1999.

David initially worked in mixed practice in Trafalgar (Gippsland, Victoria) before travelling overseas to the United Kingdom, where he worked in many practices in England and Northern Ireland. Working alongside veterinarians from all over the world he was able to gain invaluable experience in all types of small animal medicine and surgery. While working overseas David also became a Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.

On his return to Australia David worked in Sandringham and during this time he successfully completed a 12-month post-graduate course in Emergency Medicine and Critical Care. In February 2010 David joined his friend and colleague, David Stasiuk, in becoming the new owners of Cheltenham Veterinary Clinic. In that same year, through David’s dedication to continuing education, he attained the status of Chartered Member of the Australian Veterinary Association (www.ava.com.au).

David lives with his lovely wife, Jo, their children, Sophie & Charlie, and beloved whippet, Winnie. He enjoys spending time with his family, cinema, photography, tennis and keeping fit.
