Greyhounds are lazy pets?

At Cheltenham Vet Clinic, we are seeing an increasing number of Greyhound Adoption Program (GAP) dogs joining local families as pets. And it is no surprise, as more Australians are becoming aware that Greyhounds are placid, very gentle, quiet, and surprisingly lazy making them well suited even to apartment living. It is fantastic to see that many Kingston and Bayside locals are joining in to offer these wonderful dogs a second chance in life. The GAP is dedicated to finding homes for Greyhounds that are no longer suitable for racing. You may see these Greyhounds in the street; they wear the special green GAP collar (awarded for passing the strict GAP program) and do not wear a muzzle. Each dog is temperament tested, wormed, vaccinated, microchipped and desexed. And prior to adoption, each dog enters a foster program to undergo training for domestic life.
